Annapurna Circuit Trekking is an ideal package for those who wish to explore around Annapurna. No other treks allow the variation in altitude as this trek. Annapurna Circuit Trekking route takes you from The World’s Deepest Kali Gandaki Gorge (2520 m/ 8267 ft) to Thorong La Pass that stands tall with the height of 5,416m/ 17769ft. This trek was open in 1980 for foreigners as well as domestic tourist and since then many adventure lovers had spent their memorable time in this Place of Paradise. After driving to Besisahar, this trek begins from Syange, taking us through Pisang to Manang. Whereas, crossing Thorong La is the most challenging part of this trek. We will then descend to Muktinath and proceed further to Kalopani from where we will hike to Ghorepani before ending our trek at Nayapul. ItineraryDay 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m)
Description : After you land at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will need to go through a custom check and visa formalities. As you exit from the Arrival Hall, you will find our representative waiting for you with placard in their hand. Check your name in the placard. After receiving you, he will transfer you to the Three-Star hotel. Get refreshed and later, you will be getting brief instructions regarding your trip. Explore the surrounding area and have a comfortable stay.
Day 2 : Sightseeing in Kathmandu and Trek Preparation
Description : After your breakfast, you will be joined for a guided Kathmandu City Tour. Out of 10 cultural heritage site marked by UNESCO in Nepal, 4 of them alone lie in Kathmandu making it a historical city. We will start the tour by visiting Pashupatinath Temple which is located at the bank of the Bagmati River, and also known as a holy temple of Hindu. Only Hindus are allowed to access through the main temple premises. For others they can observe the cremation ceremony from the opposite side of the bank. You will also be visiting Bouddhanath Stupa at Bouddha, which is also another heritage site listed in 1979 A.D by UNESCO. This is also known as a mini Tibet of Kathmandu. After your visit to the Bouddhanath the 3rd site will be Swayambhunath which is one of the oldest Buddhist Stupa in Kathmandu that dates 2500 years back. Driving further inside the city you will be visiting another heritage site which is Kathmandu Durbar Square the ancient Royal Palace of Kathmandu city, which also includes Hanumandhoka Museum, Kasthamandap Temple, KalBhairav Statue and House of Living Goddess Kumari. And after the visit you will be returning back to hotel to rest. In the afternoon, you will be shopping for any trekking equipment that you require.
Day 3 : Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar (760m)
Description : It takes almost 8-9 hrs to reach Besisahar from Kathmandu by bus. So, we will be leaving Kathmandu early in the morning after breakfast while travelling through the meandering Prithvi Highway. En route, we will be enjoying the views of green hills, rivers, forest and Nepal’s first cable car at Kurintar throughout the road. As we reach Dumre, we will be leaving the Highway and following the branched road to Besisahar. After that, we will reach the District Head Quarter of Lamjung where, we can find many hotels and lodges for an overnight stay.
Day 4 : Jeep drive to Syange and Trek to Chamje (1430m)
Description : One can find local jeep from Besisahar to Syange. We will catch the jeep which will take us to Syange in an hour through a bumpy road. Annapurna Circuit Trek at Manikang Nepal begins from Syange. Once the porters are ready with the baggage, we will begin our trek to Shree Chaur. The trail escalates uphill from Shree Chaur to Jagat while walking through the boulders; we will reach Chamje and stay overnight.
Day 5 : Trek to Dharapani (1860m)
Description : We can find many local teahouses in Chamje. After having a refreshing early morning tea, we will lower down to the banks of river crossing it and following the escalating path uphill to Sattale. Walking past teahouses in Sattale, we will be following the path located just above river and reach to the top of the hill. The hill allows a clear view of Tal village. We will then cross the check post and walk through Karte village. We will once again arrive at river. As we cross the river, we will move further to Dharapani and stay overnight there.
Day 6 : Trek to Chame (2670m)
Description : Once we pass Dharapani we will be able to notice the change in temperature as it drops down. We will be crossing the pine forest to reach Bagarchhap, which is the first Tibetan style village that we will be able to notice during this trek. We will then move further to Danake where the trail will lead us through a local farm land, where we can get beautiful views of Lamjung Himal and Mt. Annapurna II. Walking past the tiny Koto village, we will reach Chame where we will be staying overnight.
Day 7 : Trek to Pisang (2975m)
Description : After having our breakfast in Chame, we will be following the northern edge of river for a brief period of time before climbing through the pine forest. After walking through few dispersed villages, we will be reaching Bhartang where we will witness apple garden. We will then be climbing further to Dhukur Pokhari hill from where we can enjoy the breath-taking sight of Pisang Peak and Chulu Peak. Descending from the hill, we will be walking further into Pisang village where we will be staying overnight.
Day 8 : Trek to Manang (3540m)
Description : After breakfast, we will leave Pisang and walk through pine forest to reach to the top of the hill, where we will enjoy the striking view of Manang Valley, Humde Village, Mt. Annapurna II, Pisang Peak and Gangachuli Peak before following the trail to small Humde village. We will then walk further to Braga village where we will be paying a visit to Braga Monastery before taking a sharp climb to Manang. And stay overnight at Manang.
Day 9 : Acclimatization at Manang (3540m)
Description : We will be taking a day rest at Manang. You can seize the opportunity to explore historic Manang village which comprises of around 500 houses. This is also a perfect place to have close-up views of Annapurna Mountain Range, Gangapurna Peak, Tilicho Peak and Chulu peak. There also exists a building of Himalayan Rescue Association in Manang where we can visit and learn about High Altitude Sickness. And stay overnight in Manang.
Day 10 : Trek to Yak Kharka (4050m)
Description : After our early morning breakfast, we will follow the ascending trail to Tenki from Manang. Tenki is a vast expanse of green meadow that greets us with the wonderful views of Annapurna Mountain, Gangapurna Peak and Tilicho peak. We will climb further from Tenki to Yak Kharka. Stay overnight in Yak Kharka.
Day 11 : Trek to Thorong La - Phedi (4450m)
Description : This is a short trek that will take around three hours. We will leave Yak Kharka and descend to Ledar from where we will continue to walk to Jorsang River. Following the eastern edge of Jorsang River, we will walk past local tea houses to Thorong la, at the base of Mountain Pass of Thorong La and stay overnight.
Day 12 : Climb to Thorong La (5416m) and descend to Muktinath (3748m)
Description : Climbing Thorong La is the most difficult part in Annapurna Circuit Trek. Once the crew members are ready after packing things and preparing baggage, we will begin climbing Thorong La early in the morning maintain a constant pace. Climbing gradually to the top of Thorong La rewards us with beautiful views of surrounding mountains. We will then descend to Muktinath Temple from Thorong La. Muktinath Temple is a holy place for both Hindu and Buddhist devotees. Stay overnight at Muktinath.
Day 13 : Trek to Kagbeni (2800m)
Description : Early in the morning, we will explore Muktinath Temple along with the main temple. There are other temple as well like Vishnu Temple and Jwala Mai Temple. Fuelled by natural gas, the flame in Jwala Mai Temple is believed to have never been blown off. You can also take shower in 108 water sprouts that lies in Muktinath Temple premises. After spending morning in Muktinath, we will descend to Kali Gandaki River valley and trek to Kagbeni where we will stay overnight.
Day 14 : Trek to Marpha (2670m)
Description : From Kagbeni, we will be taking a brief walk to Jomsom. Jomsom is also the district headquarters of Mustang. Walking through the dusty road of Jomsom, we will reach Marpha. Marpha is also famous for apple products so, we recommend you to taste or take the local apple brandy. This place is also known as the apple capital of Nepal. And Stay overnight at Marpha.
Day 15 : Trek to Tatopani (1190m)
Description : After the early morning breakfast in Kalopani, descending to the Thakali village of Ghasa will be in our to-do list. There will be a certain changes in the topography from dry desert setting to green forest following Kalopani. After crossing few ethnic villages and walking through Rupse waterfall, the trail will descend further into Dana village before continuing to Tatopani and overnight stay at Tatopani.
Day 16 : Trek to Ghorepani (2750m)
Description : In the early morning we'll be visiting a natural hot spring in Tatopani for a bath. We will then descend following Kali Gandaki River, where we will reach at a point from where the route splits off. Choosing the left path and walking through rhododendron forest we will reach Ghorepani where we will be staying overnight.
Day 17 : Hike to Poon hill (3193m), Trek to Hile (1430m)
Description : From Ghorepani, it will take around 40minute on foot to reach Poon hill named after Poon ethnics living in the village. Poon hill is popular for the sunrise view over Annapurna. We can get panoramic views of Nilgiri Peak, Tukuche Peak and Annapurna Mountain from Poon Hill. We will then descend to Ghorepani and have our breakfast before walking further into Hile where we will stay overnight.
Day 18 : Trek to Nayapul, Drive to Pokhara
Description : Leaving Hile and descend to Nayapul will be the end of our journey with Annapurna Circuit Trekking. It takes about an hour to reach Pokhara from Nayapul in a private vehicle. overnight in Pokhara.
Day 19 : Drive back to kathmandu 7 Hrs
Description : After breakfast, we will be on our way to Kathmandu in the morning from Pokhara. On our way we can have a great view of surrounding mountains, terrace land, greenery of the village and poultry farm as well. Around evening we will check-in at hotel. You can have a relax walk over the streets.
Day 20 : Departure
Description : You will be dropped at The Tribhuvan International Airport three hours before your scheduled flight. We wish you will have a safe journey back home with the best memories of trekking with us.
